JJ’s Footballers Qualify for Regional Competition

JJ Vocational Secondary School’s boys football team recently qualified to participate in the Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) regional competitions having reached the quarter final stage of Bushenyi district competitions. This, despite walking over 10 km to compete in the final day’s matches at district level!

Teams from 13 districts in Ankole Zone will compete in groups from 9th-12th April. Schools participating include legendary names from Mbarara City (JJ Voc is drawn in a group with the prestigious Ntare School which counts Uganda and Rwanda’s presidents amongst its alumni) with the winners progressing to the national championships.

Our players need transport to the venue(s), food and drinks during the competition, as well as jerseys, first aid items, etc – can you help? School and college students, Old Boys and Girls, and JJ staff are contributing … will you join us and help fund the team?

Follow this link to donate through Hand in Hand. The Fund is “JJCT (U)” and note “JJ Football” in the additional comments box – every little helps!
