Recent months have been exciting times for learners at the primary and secondary schools with farewell parties for candidates, study tours and visits to other schools for workshops and competitions.
Primary seven pupils were the first to hold their study trip to Queen Elizabeth National park.
There was great excitement in the village when a bus, hired from another school, arrived to collect secondary geography students for their study tour – no one had seen such a big bus in the village before … not a time to be driving in the opposite direction along the narrow murrum road!
Students and teachers enjoyed their trip through Queen Elizabeth and to Kasese and Fort Portal with various stops for learning on the way.
Kiswahili students went by taxi (a hired minibus/matatu) for a Kiswahili workshop with other schools in Mbarara.
JJ Vocational Secondary School hosted a history seminar for students from different schools, and those with talents in debating and football represented JJ in competitions against other schools.
Recognising the best performers:
Prayers were conducted and parties were enjoyed before the start of national exams
Senior staff from JJ’s primary and college joined the secondary S4 and S6 candidates, the headteacher and representatives from the Board of Governors for the candidates party. It was a time for encouraging words, special food, and lots of fun.
Meanwhile at JJ Excel College, preparations are in full swing for its INAUGURAL GRADUATION CEREMONY on 17th November 2023.
